Another small community where people still feel like neighbors is found in Midlothian, Texas.
Midlothian is a favorite for buyers who really want to feel like they’re in the country, yet still have the big-city amenities found in Dallas within driving distance. It’s one of the areas in DFW where you can still find properties with larger pieces of land.
Midlothian is the county seat of Ellis County, and a hub for the cement industry in DFW.
The downtown association approved a plan to update the area in July 2021, and it’s turning into a cute and accessible destination in the area. Midlothian Market is an open-air market held in historic downtown every Saturday through Spring to Fall, and a Wine & Arts festival every year.
The city has recently developed a new public library and city hall, and the school system is highly rated.
Waxahachie has a new ew development called Founder’s Row. This is an interesting mix of retail and dining developed into a row of historic homes that have been moved from other areas of the city. The stores and restaurants are local, non-franchise options, such as the Porch Pour where each room is decorated as a different room from the game Clue; and Relic and Root interior design and decor.
